A Big Book of Progressive Violin Trios

For over 10 years I have been teaching violin and coaching small ensembles, and every year I seem to keep adding to a growing library of arrangements and original pieces for my students and the ensembles in which they play. This book represents a portion of that work.

In it you will find 39 violin trios for student, amateur, and hobbyist ensembles. Your download will include the full score and a set of parts for each player, weighing in at 199 pages.

The earlier pieces in the book can work well as sight reading for intermediate or slightly more advanced players.

I have sorted the pieces into a mostly progressive order, but it can indeed be quite difficult to put pieces into an absolute rank list of difficulty, so just jump forwards and back as you see fit :) .The difficulty curve from start to finish is quite noticeable - hopefully this provides a nice vehicle for conquering new technical ground! On the whole, the 1st violin part is the most challenging, and the 3rd violin part the least challenging. Be sure to swap parts around every now and then to give everyone a decent workout.

It is my hope that this collection of music will bring many hours of fun for you and your ensemble mates! If you have any questions or comments about the pieces, please feel free to drop me an email. If you play any of these pieces at a recital, I'd love to hear how it went!

I want this!

You'll get the full score and a complete set of parts for each player in pdf format.
