A Big Book of Beginner Violin Duets
For over 10 years I have been teaching violin and coaching small ensembles, and every year I seem to keep adding to a growing library of arrangements and original pieces for my students and the ensembles in which they play. This book represents a portion of that work.
In it you will find 53 violin duets for beginners to study with their teachers. Your download will include the full score and a set of parts for each player, weighing in at 110 pages.
These little pieces also work well as sight reading for intermediate or slightly more advanced students.
The pieces are sorted in a mostly-progressive way, meaning that the easier duets are at the beginning of the book. The early duets use only the "beginner" finger pattern and simple rhythmic and bowing patterns. New finger patterns, bowings, and rhythms are introduced gradually.
Seeing that the 2nd violin part is meant for the teacher to play, it is indeed a bit more difficult than the 1st violin part, but an intermediate student would also be able to play the part - useful for studio recitals.
I hope this selection of songs will bring you great joy! If you have any questions or comments about the pieces, please feel free to drop me an email. If you play any of these pieces at a recital, I'd love to hear how it went!
You'll get the full score and a complete set of parts for each player in pdf format.
